The Covenant of First Congregational Church
While as a Congregational Church we believe in the freedom and responsibility
of the individual in matters affecting his spiritual Iife and experience,
and in the right of private judgement in questions of belief and Bible,
we feel there are certain central convictions about which our life as
a Church moves.
We believe in God, the Father of all men and women regardless of race, color
or nation, and in His love for His children and His creation.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the way and the truth, seeking to make His life
our example, His teaching the guide for our conduct, and His ideals the
motivating power in our lives.
We believe in the Church as the fellowship of those who are seeking to be
His disciples, joining together for mutual encouragement and increased
power in their common task.
We as members of this Church seek to exhalt the worship of God, labor for
the progress of knowledge, promote the reign of justice and peace, and
establish the spirit of brotherhood among men, and look with faith to
the life everlasting.
