Who We Are
At First Congregational Church we practice a thoughtful Christianity based on the three tenets of Congregationalism: Faith, Freedom, and Fellowship.
Faith
Faith in God, in Jesus Christ, and in the presence of God revealed to us by the Holy Spirit.
Faith
Faith in God, in Jesus Christ, and in the presence of God revealed to us by the Holy Spirit.
Freedom
Freedom of the individual to journey in faith according to his or her conscience and experience. First Congregational Church is a self-governing church. We adhere to democratic principles of decision-making. We operate under established bylaws, elected boards and committee representatives and make decisions on important church issues through a direct vote or through elected representatives.
Fellowship
The foundation of fellowship in our church consists of support for one another, prayers, and acceptance of others in this community of faith. Fellowship manifests itself in the activities and programs within our own church as well as within our local community. We are proud of our programs, groups, and women’s organizations within the church as well as our service and outreach to the community.

The Covenant of First Congregational Church
"While as a Congregational Church we believe in the freedom and responsibility of the individual in matters affecting his spiritual life and experience, and in the right of private judgment in questions of belief and Bible, we feel there are certain central convictions about which our life as a Church moves.
We believe in God, the Father of all men and women regardless of race, color or nation, and in His love for His children and His creation.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the way and the truth, seeking to make His life our example, His teaching the guide for our conduct, and His ideals the motivating power in our lives.
We believe in the Church as the fellowship of those who are seeking to be His disciples, joining together for mutual encouragement and increased power in their common task.
We as members of this Church seek to exalt the worship of God, labor for the progress of knowledge, promote the reign of justice and peace, and establish the spirit of brotherhood among men, and look with faith to the life everlasting."
